Jack James Lawrance

Jack was born June 23rd, 1931 in Minneapolis MN and passed away peacefully on April 26th in New Hope MN at the age of 86.

Survived by wife of 65 years , Marlene ; sons, Steven(Sharon), Patrick (Michele), David (Denise), Michael (Carol) ; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his mother, Edna Lawrance, & sisters Bernie Chupka (Mike), Margaret O'Loughlin (Emmett), Dorothy Titsworth (Charles) & niece, Lynn Yurecko & nephew, Lee Snobek.

Jack was a Marine and fought valiantly in Korea, earning the Purple Heart for his actions. Upon returning home he met and married Marlene and settled in New Hope.  In 1961 he founded Signcrafters Outdoor Display which he ran for over 30 years.

He was very involved in many organizations including the Drum and Bugle Corp, the Boy Scouts, Plymouth New Hope Athletic Association,  Knights of Columbus, Toastmasters, and  St. Raphael Catholic Church.  He enjoyed his summers at the family cabin in Breezy Point and playing golf with the Dew Busters. In the winter months he could be found enjoying the beaches and golf courses of Destin, Florida with his family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Thursday, May 3 at the Church of St. Raphael, 7301 Bass Lake Road, Crystal.  Wake to be held Wednesday, May 2, 5-8 PM, with 7 PM prayer service, at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel,  15800 37th Ave N @ Vicksburg Lane.  Visitation at church also one hour before Mass Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the St. Therese Foundation or Disabled American Veterans (DAV).

Prayer Service at 7 PM.

Visitation one hour before Mass at Church.
