Helen Margaret Jackson, 81, of Plymouth, MN, went home to be with her Lord on May 13, 2020.
She was born in Monico, WI on June 26, 1938. She received her BS in Elementary Education from UW-LaCrosse and her Master’s Degree in Education from Minnesota State University, Mankato, MN. Helen earned additional certifications in Special Education from St. Cloud State University. Helen was an elementary teacher in the Wayzata Public Schools from 1976-1998. Helen served with Stephens Ministry and was a Bible study leader. Throughout her years as a wife and mother, she was involved in a neighborhood Homemaker’s Club. Helen loved being outdoors, gardening, bird watching, and relaxing at the family lake home. She cherished spending time with family and doting on her grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Mary Ellen Toms, and her brother Charles (Budge) Toms.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of 59 years, John Darel; twin sister Jean Springer; children Kurt, Jeff, Jill (Zarriello), and David; grandchildren Cory, Brad, Beth, Tiffany, Chris, Corrina, Brandon; and 3 great grandchildren.
Helen trusted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and lived life passionately for Him. She loved unconditionally in His name and is now rejoicing in His presence.
Memorials are preferred to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research Fund.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 26 at 11:00 a.m., on Livestream through Helen’s obituary on Gearty-Delmore.com. The Livestream video will be available on the website for 90 days following the service.
