Heather Meredyth Johnstone, age 80 of Orono, MN. Passed away at home on April 2, 2020.

She was born on February 6, 1940 in Walhalla, ND.  She received a degree in Occupational Therapy from UND and continued her nursing degrees at St. Mary’s.  She had many interests that were reflected throughout her careers in Physical Therapy, Hospice Nursing, Nutritional Counseling, owning a Photography gallery, Assistant to former Hennepin County Commissioner, John Derus, MN Battered Women’s Coalition and her nonprofit MN-Mexico Support Project.  In her earlier years, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, photography, interior design, traveling the world, BSF, and in her later years being entertained by her granddaughter’s expanding curiosity.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hector and Ethyl Johnstone, sister, Holly Johnstone-Hartigan and brother, Hollister Mark Johnstone.

Survived by children, Mark (Julie) Wall and Andrea Wall; ex-husband, Kenneth Wall; brother, Hector (Karen) Johnstone, sisters, Hilary (Dennis) Beste, Hope Johnston, Haidee Johnstone (Michael Skjei), nieces and nephews: Teirney Dunnigan, Shannon Larson, Andrew Johnstone, Kathryn Reeves, Samantha Ward, Travis Beste, Kyle Beste, Deirdre Lee, Morgan Lee, her precious granddaughters, Holland and Violet, and the close friends made throughout each stage of her life.

A celebration of life will be postponed until a later date.  Memorial donations are welcomed for the Animal Humane Society of Golden Valley in honor of Holland and Violet’s shared love of animals.
