In Loving Memory
With heavy hearts, the Manthey family regrets to announce the passing of Harold “Luke” Manthey.
Luke passed away on Sept. 9, 2021, at the age of 84 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by love and support from his family.
He earned his Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Minnesota and worked with Ellerbe Becket Assn. and Anderson Debartolo Pan.
He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life such as fishing and boating with his brother and father in his earlier years, flying lessons, swimming across the St. Croix and hunting. As life progressed, he loved planting flowers to attract butterflies and hummingbirds, wintering in Florida, basking in the sun and walking the beaches. Luke took great pleasure in all types of music; he strummed the guitar and played the keyboard. Luke was a sports enthusiast who played basketball well into his 70’s. As his sickness progressed, he enjoyed his Sudoku books, watching movies and sports, sitting on his deck with his flowers and his many butterflies and hummingbirds.
Preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Frances. He will be forever in the hearts of his wife, Donna Lee; “The kids”, Debbie Roe, Eugene (Lori) Leckness, Connie Veld, Trisha (Doug) Stadler, Mindy (Scott) Hendrickson; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Bruce; sisters, Trisha Casement and Pam (Stafford) Suedkamp; many nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 1-4 pm on Saturday, Oct. 2 at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 37 th Ave. N. 763-553-1411
