Gordon Engstrom

Gordon "Gordy" L. Engstrom, of Destin, FL, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025 at the age of 96. He was born in Minneapolis to Edwin and Nora Engstrom on December 6, 1928. He was an active member of St. Phillip Catholic Church in Minneapolis as well as Resurrection Parish in Destin, FL. Gordon was also a long time member of the Golden Valley Country Club. Until he and Ginny moved to Destin, FL and lived in the Emerald Bay Golf Community where he had many golf buddies and great neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia "Ginny"; parents, Edwin and Nora; daughter, Jodi Swenson; great- grandson, Grayson Engstrom; and brother, Robert Engstrom.

Gordon is survived by his children, Beth, Jon (Debbie), Mark (Marlene), Peter (Jeweleen), and Susan; grandchildren, Sherri, Tosha, Heather, Jon Jr., Jason, Melissa, Mark Jr., Mike, Levi, Cory, Chelsea, Eric, Christopher & Will; 24 great- grandchildren; 6 great- great- grandchildren; brother, Richard (Joyce) Engstrom; and many nieces, nephews and other friends and family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday January 14, 2025 at 11 am with visitation an hour prior at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church 155 County Rd 24, Medina, and interment will take place at Gethsemane Cemetery in New Hope following Mass.
