Gerald E. Slavin ,
age 90, of St. Louis Park, passed away peacefully May 9, 2018.
Jerry loved to be around people and would light up every room with laughter. He would often talk about his Irish heritage, growing up in Hopkins, and always had a joke or song to share.  He was an all-around athlete at Hopkins High School, Golf pro at Interlachen Country Club, a three time Upper Midwest Golden Glove Champ, a professional boxer and was inducted into the Minnesota Boxing Hall of Fame.

Preceded in death by his parents John and Elizabeth; siblings, Josephine, Rose, Charlie, Jack, and Betty.

He will be forever missed by his wife of 61 years, Bev; children Kathy (Steve) Cook, Tom, Jim, Shaleen, and Maureen Slavin; grandchildren Joe, Jim, Sheila, Nick, Colleen, and Michael; three great-grandchildren; sister Winnie Vaughn, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Tuesday, May 15 at the Church of St Gabriel the Archangel (St. John's Campus), #6 Interlachen Rd., Hopkins. Visitation at church one hour before Mass.
