Gerald J. Busyn "Jerry" passed away peacefully on August 30,
2024, at the age of 87. He is survived by the love of his life, Carol Busyn, children Brenda Fuchs (Michael), Linda Denis (Gil), Mark Busyn, Colleen Larson (Scott); 6 amazing grandchildren; Emily Fuchs, Abigail Fuchs, Joseph Larson (Morgan), Christopher Denis, Ben Larson and Anna Busyn, brother Mike Busyn (Laurie) brother-in-law Tom Murray (Jeanne), nieces and nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Kasmir and Emily Busyn; brothers Tom and Denny Busyn, and mother and father-in-law, Leo and Valborg Murray.
Jerry was born on November 30th, 1936, in Duluth, Minnesota. Kasmir, Emily and the four boys moved to Minneapolis when Jerry was in 8th grade, where he then attended and graduated from Southwest High School in 1954. He enlisted in the US Army in 1955, and served for 2 years in Seoul, Korea. Upon his return, he moved to Rochester to work for the Johnson Company, and met his wife Carol shortly after in 1957. Two years later, on September 26, 1959, they were married and began their beautiful journey together. In 1969, Jerry embarked on a successful sales career with Xerox, and, in 1978, he joined his brother Mike at Crum Company until his retirement. In 1965, they built their forever home in New Hope, Minnesota, a special place that was always filled with the buzz of family gatherings, laughter and so much love.
Jerry was the life of the party, quick with a joke, had the biggest heart, and gave the best hugs. He loved to travel, and enjoyed reminiscing on his exciting endeavors to any listening ear. He loved watching the Twins and plays at the Guthrie theater. Some of his favorite memories were fishing trips to Canada with his son Mark, and friends, and spending days out by the pool with his family - often making an entrance with his signature cannonball. To him, family was everything.
He loved his children deeply, and beamed with pride for each one of them. He adored his 6 grandchildren and was always at their events supporting them. Throughout their almost 65 years together, he and Carol built a wonderful life and shared an incredible love. We are deeply saddened by the loss of our dad, husband, papa, brother, and friend, but are comforted in knowing he is at peace with the Lord and his family in heaven. He will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Good Samaritan Society - Ambassador and to Brighton Hospice for your remarkable care.
Christian Burial mass will be on Friday, September 13th at 11:00 am, preceded by an hour of visitation at St. Joseph Parish Center, 8701 36th Avenue North, New Hope. Luncheon to follow at St Joseph Parish center. Interment following lunch at St. Joseph Historic Little Church's Columbarium.
