George Benjamin Keister

George Benjamin Keister, age 91, of Golden Valley passed gently and peacefully from the hands of his family into the arms of the Lord on December 1, 2019. A loving and caring man, he is survived by his sister Gene Collins, his children Sue (Phil) Quinley, Jim Keister, Patricia (Kirk) Bergner, Jane (Dale) Okkelberg and Mary Dahlberg, his 11 grandchildren, Katie, Adam, Kelly, Megan, Kevin, Ryan, John Paul, Griffin, Ben, Nick, Jamie and 9 great grandchildren.

Born in Des Moines, he grew up on a farm in Iowa. George served in the Marine Corps as a fire fighter during the Korean War.  In his business career, he was an executive in sales and marketing management in the agri-food industry with Pillsbury, Jeno’s, Chun King, Robb Ross and Sunstar Foods.

His family and friends were the most important people in his life. His sense of humor, love of family fishing trips to Canada and 25 winters in Arizona with his family and friends filled his life with joy.

His last 5 years were spent in a loving VA medical foster home in Wyoming, Minnesota.

We remember dad as a loving man, generous, caring and gracious who provided selflessly for his family and community. He will be greatly missed by all as he begins his journey into the Lord’s kingdom to be reunited with Elizabeth, his wife of 59 years and others who passed before him.

Family and friends are invited to share in services honoring his life Friday evening December 6th, 5:00-8:00 pm at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel at 3888 West Broadway, Robbinsdale, MN.
