George T. Bart

A Celebration of Life, Laughter, and Loyalty.

George Bart, age 76, of Maple Grove, beloved husband, father, and grandpa, passed away peacefully at his home June 20, 2024 surrounded by his loving family, leaving behind a legacy of joy, humor, and unwavering fandom. A University of Minnesota graduate and mega fan, George could always be spotted in his signature maroon and gold gear, ready to cheer on the Gophers with infectious enthusiasm. George was the life of every party, a jokester and master storyteller that could easily bring you to tears. His comedic timing and kind heart meant he never had a bad word to say about anyone. Whether you were family, friend, or stranger, George had a way of making you feel special and seen. George loved spending time with the grandkids, be it challenging them to a footrace, snuggling up to read a book, or donning his musical Santa hat. The grandkids adored him and will forever cherish his adventurous spirit. George Bart, you will be dearly missed, but your laughter and love will echo in our hearts forever. Here's to George—may we all carry a bit of his humor and kindness with us always.

George is survived by his loving wife, Susan Bart; children, Chris (Isabel) Bart, Emily (Tiffany) Blomgren and Adam (Jora) Bart; grandchildren (Ella, Greer, Lennon, Connor, Artem, Remy, Otto and Evie) siblings; Tom Bart, Dick (Jan) Bart, Beverly Bart and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents George and Marjory Bart.

In honor of George's vibrant spirit and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the ALS Association, supporting a cause close to his heart.
