Gene Willard Anonsen

ANONSEN, GENE WILLARD

Age 91 of Plymouth, MN died peacefully on March 26th.  Gene was born on May 3rd, 1931 in Minneapolis, MN, and married Joan Clausen on October 24th, 1958.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jurene and Willard Anonsen, sister Helen, brother Charles, infant Rolf Gene, and great grandson Charlie Alan.

He is survived by wife Joan, children Julie Steinweg (Mark - Plymouth, MN), Karen Anonsen (Brooklyn Park, MN) and Steven Anonsen (Sheila - Fargo, ND) along with 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was raised in Minneapolis and graduated from Roosevelt High School, St. Olaf College and received a Master’s in Arts from the University of MN.  Gene served 8 years in the US Navy as a pilot, taught 8 years in White Bear Lake schools, and was a financial advisor for 45 years, most recently with US Bank.  He and Joan loved music and sang in church choirs over 30 years in their hometowns of White Bear Lake, Vadnais Heights, Georgetown, TX, North Oaks and Plymouth, MN.

Memorial service to be held on Thursday, March 30th at 5:00 PM with visitation starting at 4:00 PM at Gearty Delmore Funeral Chapel in Robbinsdale, MN.
