Schenemann, Gary Kent, age 69 of Brooklyn Park died June 26, 2019 at his home. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandpa and role model to many. He was preceded in death by his son, Ross and is survived by wife, Vicki; daughters, Jodi Beaty, Melanie Hoyos (Pablo); grandsons, Avery O'Brien, Jaden Beaty, Nathaniel Beaty, Otis Trachsel & Linus Trachsel and bonus grandsons, Fausto Hoyos and Giovanni Hoyos; mother, Ann Larson; brothers, Bruce Schenemann (Darlene) and Jay Trygstad (Susan) and sister, Pamela Root. Gary married his high-school sweetheart at age 18, then shortly thereafter went to serve the United States as a Marine in the Vietnam War. He always said the Marines made him a man. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1999 and given 6 months to live. And for the rest of his life, he not only defied every prognosis, but he and Vicki never took his life for granted. Gary’s priority in life was to take care of his family - always, immediately and without compromise. A great many people contributed to him living a rich, fulfilling life and Gary has always been so thankful for them. Both Gary and Vicki are extremely grateful for all the love and support they have received during this difficult time, in particular a great big thank you to the staff at St. Croix Hospice, Vicki’s angels in the night. Visitation Sunday (6/30), 5-7 PM at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 37 th Ave. North and one hour before the service on Monday at the church. Memorial service Monday (7/1), 11 AM at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 7217 W. Broadway, Brooklyn Park. Interment Ft. Snelling.
