Gary Aamold, 74, peacefully passed away on October 25, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family after a battle with MDS and leukemia. His determination, strong work ethic, witty personality and love for his family carried him through life to the end.
He was the second son born to Myrtle and Leonard Aamold on February 23, 1950 in Mayville, ND. He graduated from Portland High School in 1968. He went on to attend North Dakota State University where he graduated with a BS degree in Civil Engineering and met his beloved wife, Faye, of 52 years. He earned his Professional Engineer license and worked for many years in the highway construction industry. Through his work ethic and drive he co-owned two successful companies over the years, Highway Services and Accurate Profile Grinding. His favorite pastime was attending his grandchildren's many sporting events. He also enjoyed hunting with his sons-in-law, fishing with his buddies, golfing, wintering in Arizona and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Faye. Children, Kim (Trever) Michels, Jennifer (Mikel) Kallenbach, Becky (Andy) Zeilenga. Grandchildren, Ali, Dani, Erin and Alex Michels, Jared and Adam Kallenbach. Brother Allen (Adela) Aamold.
Blood transfusions provided precious extra time over the last year. If you are able, please consider giving blood in honor of Gary.
Funeral services will be held Friday November 8th at Lord of Life Lutheran Church located at 7401 County Road 101 Maple Grove, MN 55311. The visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM followed by the memorial service at 11:00 AM. The service will also be live streamed at lordoflife.org/celebrationoflife
