Galina Tobak

Galina Tobak, (Галина Александровна Тобак (Дёмина))
Born January 21, 1937 in Ivanovo, Russia, passed away December 5, 2018 Plymouth, Minnesota at the age of Eighty-One.

Galina preceded in death by her father, Александер Николаевич Дёмин and her mother, Таисья Павловна Дёмина (Находкина).

She is survived by Yury, her husband of 58 years; son, Michael; daughter, Natasha; grandchildren, Taisa, Samuel and Katerina.
Also survived by her brother Nikolai and many other loving family and friends.

Galina was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She passed away on December 5th, 2018 after several long years of being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

Galina was born in the former Soviet Union where she grew up; she also lived in Germany after WWII with her family for a few years.
Galina graduated from Ленинградский Санитарно-Гигиенический Медицинский Иститут (Medical School) in Leningrad, U.S.S.R. and worked as a pediatrician in Bobruisk, Belarus. She met Yury at school; they married on September 3rd, 1960.

After immigrating into the United States in 1989, Galina continued caring for children in a different role as a nanny and later as a loving grandmother. Galina loved her family, children and grandchildren; she loved all of her jobs and always gave to the fullest; she was nice and helpful to her friends, neighbors and even strangers. She was a compassionate, caring and kind human being. Her former patients are still remembering her as a very kind pediatrician.

Galina enjoyed gardening, flowers, travel with her husband and friend, music and dancing.
Even though Galina stopped speaking in the last several years because of her disease, she would whistle, and we could always see her kind soul in her sky-blue eyes.

She will be greatly missed, always loved and remembered.
