Haak, Eugene “Gene” was born on Sept. 21, 1930. After graduating from DeLaSalle HS, he enlisted in the USMC and served during the Korean War. After his military service, he earned his degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the U of M and enjoyed a long and successful career in this field. While hunting, fishing, and woodworking were his hobbies, family, friends and faith were most important to him. Gene’s devotion to his Church and God will continue to be an inspiration to all who knew him.
Gene is preceded in death by his first wife, Donna, his son, Bill, brother, Stanley, and sister, Nancy.
Gene is survived by his beloved wife, Terry (Miller) Haak, sisters, Mary Vogel, and Betty (Patrick) Bridgmann, brother, Tom (Shirley) Haak, son, Pete (Cheryl) Haak, daughters, Cheri (Kyle) Bogue, Lisa (Floyd Knott) Haak, stepsons, Skip Miller, Tom (Cindy) Miller, stepdaughters, Mary (Tom) Skudlarek, Ann (Al) Hunter as well as 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren!
Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Historic Little Church - 13015 Rockford Rd, Plymouth at 11:00 AM, with visitation from 9:30-11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Northfield on Friday, May 12 at 11:00 AM with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Gene’s name to the St. Joseph Historic Little Church are preferred.
