We are heartbroken to share news of the passing of Eric Laurence Hansen on March 19, 2021 at the age of 72. Eric was a loving, kind, gentle, intelligent, caring, and humble man whose integrity and character were part of his everyday life. However, his most valued characteristic was his love of God and he shared that commitment wherever he could. A 1966 graduate of Cooper High School, Eric attended Anoka Ramsey Junior College before entering the Army. After returning from Vietnam, He married his high school sweetheart Lois (Baruth) Hansen to whom he was married 51 years. Eric attended St. Paul TVI where he studied to become an electrician. He worked in the trade for 31 years before retiring at age 58 as a master electrician. Eric loved building, remodeling, road trips, downhill skiing, golfing, and the nature and tranquility of living up North in the home he built. He volunteered for the National Ski Patrol for 12 years.
Eric is survived by his soulmate and lifetime partner, Lois; son, Matt (Michelle); grandchildren who he adored, Alexis and Micah; brother, Paul (Laura); sister, Alida; and other relatives and friends. He loved his family beyond words.
He was preceded in death by son, Brian; parents, Laurette and Louis; and brother, Russ.
A celebration of Eric’s life will be held on Friday, April 30 at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in Mounds View at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior. Please wear a mask and observe social distancing. The service will also be livestreamed on the Abiding Savior Lutheran Church Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/abidingsaviorlc . Memorials are preferred to Abiding Savior Lutheran Church or Zion Lutheran Church in Mora.
A private interment for the family will immediately follow the service.
