Elizabeth Tieszen

Elizabeth Tieszen was born in Mt. Lake, MN, on November 19, 1933, the daughter of Aaron and Aganetha Tieszen. Upon graduation from Mt. Lake High School she continued her education at Tabor College, in Hillsboro, Kansas. While attending Tabor she had the call to become a missionary and set sail for Cali, Columbia. She served as a teacher, administrator, and a teacher of teachers. Her mission verse was Mark 10:14 “…Suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not for such is the Kingdom of God.” and she spent 40+ years pointing Columbians to Christ.

After 40+ years, she returned to the United States and continued teaching classes and women’s Bible studies, in California. In 2014, Elizabeth moved to Minnesota and became a resident at Wellstead Memory Care, where she was loved by the staff. She was nicknamed “the organizer” as she used her many gifts. She often played piano at various services. This Christmas she played “Jesus Loves Me” as a prelude over and over on the piano from memory.

She suffered a stroke on December 30, 2020, and on January 11, 2021 she passed on to see her Savior, whom she loved and served. “She is now safe in the Arms of Jesus.”

Elizabeth is survived by siblings: Edwin (Shirley) Tieszen, Tille Quiring, Sister-in-law, Marcella Stoesz. She also has many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents, brothers, Harold and John Stoesz, and sister, Luella (Les) Harder.
