Elizabeth Ann (Klug) Leonard-Rould, of Plymouth, MN, age 93; born on June 30, 1928 in Oak Park, IL and grew up in Riverside, IL; died October 19,2021 in Plymouth, MN. Preceded in death by her mother, Edith (Kavanaugh) Klug, her father, Robert J. Klug, her daughter, Christine A. Leonard, her first husband, Edward J. Leonard, and her second husband, Donald E. Rould.
“Liz” grew up in the Chicago area in Riverside, IL working at the Brookfield Zoo while attending Trinity Catholic High School in River Forest, IL. On June 10, 1954 she married Edward J. Leonard and they made their home in Berwyn, IL until 1967 when they moved to rural Lakeside, MI. There they started their own real estate and construction business and ran it until 1997. During these 37 years they wintered on Sanibel Island in Florida and in 2004 they eventually moved from Michigan to Woodbury, MN. Unfortunately, Ed passed away shortly after the move, and, in 2006, Liz ended up marrying her childhood sweetheart, Donald E. Rould. He died in 2019.
Liz was a devoted wife to her husbands and mother to her daughter, Christine, who sustained a disabling TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) in a car accident in 1972. Chris eventually died in 2020. Liz’s longtime friends, Nancy and Gary Wagner, assisted both her and Chris greatly during their latter years.
A memorial service will be held to remember Liz on Tuesday, October 26 th at 3 PM at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 37 th Ave. N., Plymouth. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Courage Center, the Animal Humane Society, or Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare. Private Interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights.
