Spano, Eileen “Ike” (Knaeble),
Age 96, passed away December 11, 2020. Preceded in death by husband Robert M. Spano, son Thomas Spano, infant grandson Alec; parents Charles and Susan Knaeble; brothers Joseph and Charles Knaeble; sisters Mary Lamey, Susan Reiter, Alice Hanson, Dorothy Kurtz, Ruth Garbett, and Helen Schmeling. Survived by son Paul (Nancy) Spano; daughters Mary (Socorro Gonzalez) Spano, Janice (Keith) Oldfather and grandson Adam Oldfather; sister Harriet Snell. Eileen was born in Robbinsdale and graduated from Robbinsdale High School Class of 1943. Eileen was a retiree of the Star Tribune Finance Dept. She was a member of the Robbinsdale Historical Society, a 1000 hour volunteer of St. Mary’s Hospital and a volunteer at North Memorial. She was a member of the N. Mpls. Serra Club, and a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Women’s Club, the Rosary Honor Guard, the St. Charles VIP Club and the Shepherd’s Staff. Eileen was a member of the Italian Heritage Society Women’s Group, and the auxiliaries of the Fridley VFW #363 and the Fridley Council K of C. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, December 22, 11 AM at the Church of St. Charles Borromeo, 2739 Stinson Blvd., St. Anthony. Visitation in the St Charles Atrium one hour before Mass. Memorials preferred to Sister Stephen’s Purse at St. Charles Borromeo Church or the American Lung Association
