M. Eileen Bowers, age 86, went home to be with her Savior surrounded by her family on January 4, 2021 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN.  Funeral Service will be at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Home in Robbinsdale.  Viewing will be one-half hour prior to service. Rev. Brian Sinclair will officiate. A private grave side service will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Eileen was born on February 6, 1934 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Myron and Grayce (Chatham) Patterson. Eileen met Melvin Bowers and they married on July 25, 1954. In 1976, Melvin accepted a teaching job at Pillsbury Baptist Bible College in Owatonna, MN. Eileen worked in the financial office and was the Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Students.  She was a loyal servant of Christ and was very active serving in her church until her health prevented her from doing so.  When her health declined, she was an avid prayer warrior for all.

Eileen leaves behind 4 children; Melvin Daniel (Ann) Bowers of Fridley, MN; Grayce (Calvin) Reyburn of Oshkosh, WI; Tim (Cheryl) Bowers of Knoxville, TN; and Vicky (Jerry) Mehrwerth of New Hope, MN. Eileen was also grandmother to fourteen grandchildren:  Wayne, Chad, Candi, Mitch, Hope, Nathan, Tim (TJ), Jessica, Rachel, Joel, Hannah, Anthony, Jana and Amber. Eileen also had thirty great-grandchildren.  Eileen was preceded in death by her husband Melvin, her mother and father, and her grandparents who raised her.

Eileen’s family wishes to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers and is grateful to the staff at North Memorial Hospital and especially the staff at Eccumen Prairie Lodge in Brooklyn Center.
