Age 87 of Orono

1937-2025

Arthur Edward “Ed” Maass passed away peacefully last Saturday surrounded by family after a hard-fought battle with Parkinson’s.

Ed was born in Rochester MN in 1937 to Arthur and Elizabeth (Clark) Maass. He graduated from Lourdes High School in the class of ‘55 and earned his BBA in Marketing from the U of MN in 1959. Ed worked in sales for General Mills for 19 years and received many awards. He was also an entrepreneur, inventor and patent holder. In 1977 Ed founded MagneCorp, marketing and manufacturing his products until his retirement.

Ed enjoyed time with family and friends, golfing, skiing in Colorado, white-water rafting and Country music dancing. He was a global traveler.

Ed is survived by his children Debbie, John (Sheila), and Tom (Julie), siblings David (Ann), Nort (Jan), Mary (Steve), many nephews, nieces, cousins and his “lady friend” Carole.

Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 18 at the Church of St. Mary of the Lake, 105 Forestview Lane N., Plymouth.

Visitation one hour prior to the Mass at the church.

Private interment Calvary Cemetery, 500 11th Ave. NE, Rochester.
