Ed Cochrane

Ed Cochrane passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 25. He was surrounded by those he loved dearly and considered his closest friends: Lynn (wife), Kelly (daughter), Jon (son) and Jill (daughter in law).

Coach Ed was a force. He had an effervescent personality. Those who knew him, not only loved him, but were honored to call him a friend. Lynn was the true love of his life. The 48 years they shared together was the relationship fairytales are made of. Together, they had two children, Kelly and Jon. The time he spent with these three was instrumental in shaping not only their confidence and self-esteem, but also helped to guide their paths in life. He led by example, living with faith, ethics and love. But in all honesty, basketball was Ed’s first love. He started playing at the local playgrounds with his brother. He took this passion and made it a career as a high school basketball coach. However, his favorite position was coaching his grandson, Jakob. As a retired coach and professional grandpa, Ed found joy in cheering on his granddaughters, Chloe and Alexa, at their soccer games. Through it all, Ed and Lynn had a tradition of watching sunset while drinking a glass of wine. They had their final glass of wine on Tuesday, just before he passed away. As a family, we hope all of his friends will continue this tradition in his honor.

Ed is survived by Lynn Cochrane (Wife), his children Kelly Cochrane and Jon Cochrane (Jill); grandchildren Jakob, Chloe and Alexa, and his brother, Gordon (Chris).
