Douglas Robert Stone, 57, St Louis Park, MN.

Doug passed away peacefully in St Louis Park, MN on January 19, 2022. He is survived by his siblings Nancy (Greg Gidden) and Bruce (Jean) and five nieces and nephews, his beloved friend of many years, Tuesday Wells, and a large extended family.

Doug graduated from St Louis Park High School, where he ran cross country and track and was a cross-country skier, and the University of Minnesota-Duluth, where in addition to running for UMD he earned a degree in finance.

Doug was a true and loyal friend whose many close relationships with family members and friendships from high school, college, and work lasted a lifetime. He was a voracious reader, who also loved to watch UMD hockey and the Vikings, often while simultaneously handicapping the day's horse races. We are so grateful to the many people in his life who came to spend time with him in his final weeks, or who reached out to him via text and phone.

Doug will be buried with his parents, Pat and Phil Stone, in Virginia, MN in a private observance in the future. In lieu of services and given that Doug left behind close-knit circles of friends from so many parts of his life, please celebrate Doug’s life and your friendship by getting together as appropriate to laugh and share happy memories, or a hand of poker or cribbage – Doug would love nothing more.
