Douglas Dean Logeland, 81, of Minneapolis passed away on May 13, 2024.
Born to Thomas and Alice (Jones) Logeland on January 31, 1943 in Jamestown, ND.
Doug earned his Bachelors in Accounting at the University of Minnesota and enjoyed a rewarding career as a CPA at Price Waterhouse for many years.
Doug's greatest happiness came from creating puzzles with his wife, Mary. They learned how to make puzzles from cherry wood with a scroll saw that took 4-5 weeks per puzzle to create. Their business, Rainy Lake Puzzles, was founded in 1991.
Beyond his profession, Doug found immense joy in golf, cribbage, nice dinners and movies. He relished time on the green, refining his swing and savoring the camaraderie of friends. In cribbage games, his strategic mind endeared him to opponents and loved ones alike. Doug loved to have nice dinners at fancy restaurants and then go watch a Quentin Tarantino movie with his nephew.
Doug also cherished the tranquil cabin days spent at his Rainy Lake cabin. Fishing, canoeing and starlit evenings brought him deep contentment, and he loved making memories with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Alice (Jones) Logeland; and brother-in-law, Michael Garrity.
Doug will be deeply missed by his wife, Mary Logeland, brother Tom Logeland, niece Thrish Osborn (Tony), nephew Rick Behr, niece Gwen Tetzloff (Dave), nephew Nolan Garrity, nephew Brenden Garrity (Melissa), niece Kelly Garrity, niece Shannon Mahoney (Ryan), nephew Jon Garrity, nephew Robert Garrity (Dina), great nieces Morgan Johnson (Hunter), Ivy Garrity, Mars Rehbein, and great nephews Ryan Tetzloff, Micah Mahoney, Charlie Rehbein and Jude Garrity.
Memorial service will take place on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 37th Ave N, Plymouth, MN 55446. The visitation is 10am-11am, the service is 11am-12pm.
