Dorothy A. “Dotty” Hoey,
age 85 of Maple Grove, formerly Hopkins, passed away on January 13, 2018.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Bob, of 56 years, son-in-law, Vince Lucas, her parents, Grace and Albert Kolkmeyer and siblings, Bob Kolkmeyer, Al Kolkmeyer, Peggy McManus and Jean Nurre.
She is survived by children, Michele Willner, Patty (Randy) Lucas-Hadaway, Laurie (Brian) Acker, Lisa Hoey, Bob (Laurie) Hoey, Tina Sterling, and Holly (Jeff) Germann; former sons-in-law, Pete Willner and Ben Sterling, 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Mom was a woman of strong faith and committed to Catholic education, sending all her children to Catholic schools. Besides her faith, she was dedicated to her family. She was heard saying she always wanted a baby in the home and with 7 children, 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, this was nearly true.
Dotty and Bob loved to go to the river with their RV, where they met some wonderful friends. Dotty also enjoyed celebrating life, with large parties on Christmas Eve, St. Patrick’s Day and “July birthdays”. She would say, “The more the merrier”.
Dotty is now with God and her loving husband, sisters, brothers, and parents, for whom she greatly missed.
