Donna L. Barnes

Donna was going strong at 90 years of age.  She was an active member of Brunswick United Methodist Church where she was member of the choir.  As an advocate for children’s literacy, Donna volunteered for many years at Hassan Elementary School in Rogers and was an actor in Story Theater through the Sandburg Learning Center, giving performances at grade schools in the Robbinsdale School Dist.  She also volunteered with the Sandburg Learning Center adult education program helping stroke and brain injury victims regain their communication skills.  In her spare time she loved quilting and spending time with her grandchildren who live in the Twin Cities area.

Preceded in death by husbands, Louie Roberts, Jr. and Dr. Neale Barnes; sons, Gary and Lee Roberts.

Survived by son, Paul (Vicki) Roberts; step-children, David (Pam) Barnes, Peggy Woll and Jackie Goodman; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
