Formerly of Lake Eshquaguma and Sun Lakes, AZ, died December 29, 2015, at Cornerstone Assisted Living in Plymouth, MN, just three days shy of his 92nd birthday.
Don and Ruth enjoyed 65 loving years together. Don’s career as a mining engineer saw the Virants raising their five children in northern MN, Quebec, Canada and Tasmania, Australia. He served in the Army during WWII in Europe and was honorably discharged in 1946.
Survived by children, Jeff Virant (Charlie Hurley), Betty (Elizabeth) Virant (Ted Tonkinson), Carol Churchill, Tim (Kjerstin) Virant and Patrick (Deborah) Virant; grandchildren, Katie, Kevin, Sean, Lucy and Cece Virant; many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth, who passed away in June of 2015.
Private family services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Cornerstone Assisted Living of Plymouth, MN or St. Croix Hospice.
