Donald Lee Patrick

Donald Lee Patrick, 84, of Minneapolis, MN, peacefully passed away on April 21st, 2023.

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Ray and Grace Patrick. Don graduated from St Louis Park High School in MN and continued on to complete a year at the University of MN as well as apprenticing as a Tool and Die maker. Don served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1961 to 1967.

After his time in the Reserves he landed a job with Control Data in Quality Control and continued this throughout his life, working in the Toy and Medical Industries. He traveled extensively to China through his work, which he loved. Don met his wife, Iris, of 40 years, and went on to have two children Matt and Amy. Don was a dedicated father and husband and often instigated camping and canoe trips, archeology exploration near and far, finding obscure dishes to cook and growing the largest tomatoes and zucchinis.

Don had many interests throughout his life. Hunting, Fishing, anything outdoors, and was an avid Military History buff. He loved volunteering for reenactments and history days at Fort Snelling, but was also steadfast in his dedication to the Memorial Rifle Squad at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. He was extensively active with the Camp Hastings Marine Military History group participating in reenactment weekends and parades.

Don was preceded in death by his wife Iris and leaves behind Daughter Amy, Son Matt, Daughter In-Law Patricia, Girlfriend Karen, and many extended family and friends. Services will be held at Edina Morningside and Linden Hills UCC, 4201 Morningside Road, Edina, MN 55416 on Saturday, June 3rd at 10:00am Visitation, 11:00am Service, with coffee and refreshments served afterwards. Donations can be made to Edina Morningside and Linden Hills UCC or the Wounded Warrior Project.
