Donald Knecht

Donald J. Knecht, 85, of Minneapolis died on Thursday, July 11, 2024. Born to Jacob and Edna Knecht in Bismarck, ND on November 15, 1938. A graduate of St. Olaf College and Luther Seminary, Donald served as a Lutheran Pastor and then Chaplain in the Fairview Health system. He was involved with the Boy Scouts of America, sang barbershop in the Great Northern Union Chorus, and enjoyed bird watching.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Edna (Dahl) Knecht; and 4 siblings, Loring Knecht, Dorothy Andvik, Jean Lee and Shirley Bersagel.

Donald is survived by his wife, Mary (Lehnhoff) Knecht; children, Ann (John) McIntire and Jacob Knecht; grandchildren, Jacob, Zachary, Eileen and Mary.

Memorial service to be held Thursday, August 1 at 11:00am at Edina Community Lutheran Church 4113 W 54th St. Edina 55424 with a visitation one hour prior at the church.
