Donald J. Hoffer, age 70, of Plymouth passed away October 23, 2021.
Born November 2, 1950, in Minneapolis, MN to John Emmanuel and Ann Antonetta (Mandile) Hoffer.
Attended De La Salle High School, Metropolitan Junior College, Metropolitan State University and the University of MN. Honorably served in the United States Army/Army Reserves during the Vietnam War. Seventeen-year career at General Mills – Manager of Special Events and Junior Achievement Team Leader and Mentor. Thirty-five plus years Independent Insurance Sales Broker and owner of the Donald Hoffer Insurance Company, LLC. Don was an active member of Business Network International (BNI). He also mentored in the Big Brothers Association, was a Special Olympics and church Stewardship/Finance Committee volunteer and Sunday School Teacher.
The joy of his life was his family. He especially loved coaching his children in their sports; baseball, football, basketball, and softball as well as attend their fine arts performances and other events. He adored his granddaughter, Maren, and looked forward to spending time with his little “Star of The Sea”.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John and Martin Hoffer; brothers-in-law, Jack Gruidl and Al Thoreson.
Survived by wife, Kim; son, Andrew (Samantha) Hoffer; daughter, Lisa Hoffer; granddaughter, Maren Hoffer; sisters, Rose Gruidl, Nancy (John) Norris, Julie (Torval) Bensen, and Paula (Kevin Miell) Thoreson; brothers, Mike Hoffer and Tom (Jan) Hoffer; sisters-in-law, Linda and Pam Hoffer; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation Wednesday, November 3, 2021, 4:00-8:00 pm at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 37 th Avenue North, Plymouth, MN.
Memorial service Thursday, November 4, 2021, 11:00 AM at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 5005 Northwest Boulevard, Plymouth, MN. Visitation one hour prior to service at the church.

Private interment.
