Donald Bruce Gold

Donald Bruce Gold, age 86, of Maple Grove, MN, peacefully went home to be with his heavenly father on September 30, 2024. Don was born on September 16, 1938 in St. Paul, MN, to Helen and Kenneth Gold. 

Don served his country in the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army as a paratrooper and was honorably discharged in 1959. Shortly after his return, Don met his wife Margaret (Crane); they were married on Thanksgiving day in 1960 and lived happily ever after for nearly 64 years.

Don worked for many years as an engineer. He also was a member of the VFW and proud to serve as Commander of the Robbinsdale Legion Post from 1993-1994. Don served Elim Lutheran on the Church Council as Treasurer, member of the men’s club and an usher. He was known as both patient and kind and will be missed by those who knew him. 

Don is survived by his wife Margaret, father to Becky (Greg) Rietow, Donny (Cathy) Gold and Laura (Larry) Brown. He was blessed with seven grandchildren: Kayla, Jacob, Madalene, Ben, Anna, Gretchen and Sam.
