Donald "Pops" E. Brace

Donald “Pops” Brace, age 71 of Minneapolis, MN peacefully passed away on March 17th surrounded by his loving family.  Our Father was a lifelong Minnesota Vikings fan that loved to watch their games every Sunday.  Don was born in Minneapolis on July 28, 1946.  He attended Minneapolis North High School until 1963.  Don honorably served in the United States Army.  He served in Korea and in the Vietnam conflict during the 1960’s where he was the recipient of two Purple Heart commendations.  He was a Rifle Marksman and earned the Vietnam, National Defense and Good Conduct Medals.  He continued to serve the armed forces in his later years by being a member of the Anoka County Vietnam Veterans of America #470 Honor Guard where he performed in 200+ funeral services from 2002 to 2009.  He was a proud American Soldier.

He was loved by his family and countless friends.  He will be forever missed.  Don was a proud Father, Grandfather, Brother and Uncle.  He is survived by his four sons, Donald II (Lisa), Dan, Dennis (Stephanie) and David.  His grandchildren, Augusta, Donald III, Karissa, Danny & Macie.  His brother, Bob (Sandy), and sisters, Beverly (Jerry) and Marlene (Mark) as well as his many nieces, nephews and loving friends.

Interment Service Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
