DeWayne "Wally" W. Freitag, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2024 at the age of 94 with his family by his side as he went to be with Jesus.
Preceded in death by Bonnie his loving wife of 60 years; her siblings the McNulty’s and grandson Kyle Pecholt. Parents; Sophia and Clarence Freitag. Siblings Phyllis, Eleanor, Marjorie, Donald, Robert, and Ronald. He is survived by 11 children, Faith (Ron) Dohmen, Carol, Rita (Mike Boysen), Susan (Tim) Bro, Jeanne, Jim, Jane Dittel, John (Kim), Tom, Paul (Jodi), Bob (Tracy); 29 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Sisters, Maxine Uhlich and Joy Priddy.
Wally honorably served the United States Navy during the Korean War and was a Life Member of New Prague American Legion Post #45.
Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 23, 2024, at the Parish Community of St. Joseph Parish Center, 8701 36th Ave. N., New Hope.
Visitation one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Luncheon following.
Interment Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
