Delores Irene Bullemer was born on November 21, 1929 to John and Frances (Weivoda) Ludowese in Stewart, MN. Delores attended Holy Angels High School in Richfield, MN and graduated with the class of 1947. She continued her education in nutrition at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph MN. On February 3, 1951 Delores married Robert Bullemer at St. Boniface catholic church in Stewart, MN. Robert and Delores moved to Gibbon in 1953 to operate the family grocery business until their retirement in 1992. Delores continued to live in Gibbon until the present time.
Delores was a devoted catholic who watched daily mass and prayed the rosary before bed. For several years Delores and her husband Bob spent winters in Tucson, AZ where they loved to hike, golf, spend time with friends and were very involved in their church. Earlier in her life she enjoyed golfing, walking, traveling, cooking and time with her family. She liked to fix things, for example, she has been known to take the toaster or vacuum cleaner apart and fix it herself. Delores frequently looked at adversity with a quote that made many of us laugh “that is how the cookie crumbles” or “whatever”. She was a strong woman.
