Deborah "Deby" Ann (Cleveland) Samson

Deborah A. Samson, age 69 of Plymouth passed away June 22, 2022 at home. Deby was born in St. Paul, MN on March 16th, 1953, to Sam and Mary Cleveland. As the first of 5 children, she was a cherished big sister that the others looked up to.  She graduated from Burnsville High School and attended the College of St Theresa in Winona.

Deby met Phil Samson, the love of her life, in 1969. They married 5 years later and went on to have 3 children and 3 grandchildren.  Professionally, she ran the office of a mental health clinic for many years. She advocated for children diagnosed with ADHD and worked to reform the special education system to better accommodate their needs. She finished her career at Minneapolis Clinic of Neurology.

Deby had a deep faith in God, was a caregiver, and a friend to all. She gave 110% to whatever she was doing. She loved her beautiful flower gardens, sewing quilts for others, and reading.  She loved spending time on the North Shore, camping, and boating.  Most of all Deby loved her family.

Deby is survived by Husband Phil; Children: Pete Samson (Jen), Mike Samson, Erin Lufholm (Mike); Grandchildren: Austin Enyart, Tony & Henry Samson; Father: Samuel Cleveland; Siblings: John Cleveland (Kathy), Anne Ames (Tom), & Michelle Maher (Bruce), many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Preceded in death by Mother, Mary E. (Diamond) Cleveland & Brother James P. Cleveland

‘We Never Lose Those We Give to God’

Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Friday, July 1 at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 9100 93rd Ave N., Brooklyn Park.  Visitation at church one hour prior to Mass.  Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Robbinsdale Women’s Center.
