Deanna Nancy Rohrer

Deanna (Nancy) Rohrer formerly of Plymouth, MN passed away peacefully on August 16th, 2024, in Deerwood, MN at the age of eighty-two.

Preceded in death by her parents Merle and Norm Duenow, husband Robert Rohrer, daughter through marriage Dana Rohrer, nephew Scott Fischer, and great granddaughter Addie Gutzwiller. 

Nancy left behind her daughter Cheryl (John) Johnson, and sister Pam (Craig) Fischer. Nancy left behind her children through marriage Kim (Mark) Bielke, and Tony (Brenda) Rohrer; Grandchildren Jacob Rohrer, Shane Bielke, Chris (Kelly) Bielke, Ashley (Kurt) Gutzwiller, Kristen (Chris) Zwart, Kalin Rohrer, Amy Rohrer, and Sami Rohrer; ten great grandchildren Grace, George, Max, Roman, Gwen, Eris, Oskar, Layla, Ava and Hendrix; Nieces and nephews Kelly (Kurt) Tokay, Brian Fischer, Karri (Adam) Fischer; great nieces and nephews Sawyer, Luke, Ashton, Landon, Liam, Ella, and Aiden. 

Nancy took immense pride in being an OR surgical nurse and teaching surgical technicians at Anoka Technical Center. Nancy graduated from nursing school at Minneapolis General Hospital School of Nursing in 1962, and then received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1974 in Health Education. Nancy went back to school in 1990, earning another Bachelor of Arts in Business. She wrote a textbook on surgical nursing of which she was particularly proud. Another great accomplishment of hers was starting her own business, Sampler Service, with her sister Pam.

In 1979 she married the love of her life, Robert Rohrer. On August 6th, 1981, Nancy’s dream of becoming a mother came true when Cheryl was born. Yearly they traveled to South Padre Island, went to Hawaii, Alaska, and Florida, just to name a few. On January 30th, 2000, Nancy’s second miracle happened when grandson Jacob was born. Jacob continued to be the highlight of her life, and she could not be prouder. Cheryl married John on September 25th, 2009, adding to Nancy’s list of happiest days. Nancy moved with Cheryl and John to a lake home in Deerwood, MN, where Nancy spent her remaining days watching the wildlife and enjoying her peaceful surroundings.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, August 22 at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 37th Ave N, with visitation one hour prior to the service.  A luncheon will immediately follow at the Parkers Lake Park Building: 15205 County Road 6, Plymouth, MN 55441.

Private interment Fort Snelling.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Croix Hospice, with whom the family is very grateful for the wonderful care Nancy received.
