David "Eli" Whitney
David “Eli” Whitney, age 62 of Golden Valley.
Survived by daughter, Krysta (Nick) Hammrich; son, Brett Whitney; grandchildren, Mason, Avery, and Kaden Hammrich; sister, Laura (Jim) Tillotson; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents, Robert Whitney Jr. and Deloris Whitney.
David enjoyed going to the gun range to shoot, spending time with his grandkids doing "Grandpa daycare", spoiling his cat Boo Kitty, and watching westerns. David spent much of his life as a truck driver until retirement in 2018. He was a veteran of the Iraq war and retired from the U.S Army as a Staff sergeant. He was also a lifelong member of the VFW. We will all miss his warm generous heart, his love for life, and sense of humor.
Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
