David Schmid

David died unexpectedly of a heart attack at his home in Maple Grove. He graduated from Cloquet High School in 1984. He earned his business degree at Duluth Business University and later his Accounting B.S. at U of MN Carlson School of Management. He spent his career in the accounting and finance area; most recently in finance with UnitedHealth Group. When we think of David we think of his incredible love and devotion to his family. He emphasized to his children the importance of church and school and enjoyed all their activities. He had a love for family and friend gatherings, the cabin, his home improvement projects and the Maple Grove community. David was a gentle, quiet man who was always willing to lend a helpful hand to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his wife Colleen (Wilson) Schmid; children, Cody, Cassandra and Grace; parents, Edwin and Karen; brother, Tim and wife Beth; sister, Debra Vitz and husband Raymon; brother-in-law, Ryan Wilson; nieces, Paige, Abigail and Allicyn; and so many other family members and friends. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society.
