David Downing Holm

Born November 19, 1958, in Minneapolis, MN, passed away December 1, 2021 at the age of 63, surrounded by family.

Beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. Warm and kind, with a quick smile and greeting that made everyone he met feel special. Dave was an avid outdoorsman with a zest for life who felt blessed to have been able to spend countless days in his cherished Boundary Waters. Dave was incurably curious, a voracious reader with a wide range of interests and passions: backgammon, numismatics, chess, history, sports, politics, financial markets, unique collectables, and maps, just to name a few.

He will be dearly missed, taken too soon by a terrible disease that robbed him of his independence, mobility and sharp mind, but not his warmth and sense of humor.

Survived by his father, Gordon, brothers Donald (Donna), Eric (Renee), Gregory (Marie-Line), nieces and nephews, Simone, Rachel, Jack, Allison, Andrew, and Ethan. Preceded in death by his mother, Corrine Holm. Private service and interment at Christ Chapel Memorial Garden, Gustavus Adolphus College at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Parkinson's Foundation.
