Darryl Lee Sundberg was born on May 15, 1946, in Minneapolis, MN. He passed away on his 78th birthday, May 15, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Darryl is survived by his wife, Marge; daughters, Teresa (Jay) Fowler, Linda (Dan) Corey, Deanna Lee (Dana Strausser); grandchildren, Andrew (Chantelle) and Kyle (Kacie) Fowler, Danny, Austin and Christopher Corey, Jamie and Amanda Lee; great-grandson, Alexander Fowler; brother, Gary (Debra); other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother; 4 sisters.

Darryl served in the US Army from 1963-1966 during which he was stationed in Colorado Springs, CO and Germany during the Vietnam war. He had a long career with the St. Louis Park Fire Department, beginning in 1972 through his retirement on June 30, 2001. Darryl was promoted to Lieutenant in 1995 and Battalion Chief in 1997. Darryl was also owner of Dama Metal Products, which supplied businesses with key lock boxes for fire safety.

Darryl enjoyed going on camping trips with his family and liked to play golf. He will be greatly missed by his loving family.

A Celebration of Darryl's Life will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, June 26th, with visitation one hour before, at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 37th Ave. N. Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
