Darrell Eugene Catton

Catton, Darrell Eugene, age 83 of Plymouth, MN.  Our much loved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away unexpectedly on October 23, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Carol; his son, Michael; mother, Eudora; son-in-law, Kip Benson; brothers, Donavon and Kenneth; and many others he cared about.

He is survived by his 4 daughters, Kelley (Pat Dwyer), Julie, Lori, Kara, and daughter-in-law, Beckie; 8 grandchildren, John (Kellie), Jeff, Jenna, Jesse (Halie), Joy, Matt (betrothed Emily Wirth), Katie, and Megan; great-granddaughters, Avery and Adelynn; and his siblings, Robert, Donald (Georgia), Marlene Brister, Richard (Sharon) and JoAnn (John Edstrom); and many nieces and nephews.

Darrell was born in Ruthton and grew up in Marshall.  After graduating high school in 1955, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He deeply valued the friendships he made throughout his life.  For Darrell, a first-hand, personal relationship was always important, driven perhaps by his successes in the sales arena. Face to face was his motto. He was an upright man with a keen sense of humor and a gift for storytelling.

Darrell’s family was his life.  He was a dedicated loving husband and father, generous with his time and talents. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were pure enjoyment and brought him so much pleasure. Nothing made him happier than a gathering to share a meal and time together telling stories. When we lost our beloved Carol, he was our family core.

Dad, you were forever devoted to your family and friends. We are so blessed to have had you in our lives and we already miss our patriarch beacon, our ever guiding light. You will live on in our hearts and memories. We love you forever.

A private family service to celebrate Darrell’s life will be held at a future date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor’s choice.
