Daniel Jay Williams of Maple Grove, MN, passed into the arms of Jesus on March 28, 2025, at the age of 63. After surviving cancer twice, which required two bone marrow transplants, Dan ultimately succumbed to recent blood clots and a stroke that followed. He died surrounded by the love of his family and many friends. He was a man of deep faith, and his life was a testament to dedication, service and unwavering kindness.
Dan is survived by his caring wife Renell and his daughters Trysten and Talia, whom he loved with his entire heart. He is also survived by his siblings Billy, Lori, Larry (Annette), Mike (Dennise) and Sue (Greg), along with many nieces and nephews. He leaves behind an immeasurable legacy with all of his family and friends. Dan is preceded in death by his father George, his mother Carole, his brother Jim, his brother-in-law Roger and his sisters-in-law Judy and Pat.
Dan’s faith in Jesus guided everything he did. He was deeply involved in the Alpha program at his Church, helping others learn about Jesus and grow in their own spiritual journey. He found great joy in serving on annual mission trips to Ensenada, Mexico where he helped build homes and spread The Good News of Christ. Other activities included serving as an in-patient volunteer and ambassador fundraiser for cancer research at the U of M. He also sponsored children in need in various countries. His heart for service and his ability to purposefully connect with people made a lasting impact on everyone he met. It didn’t matter what language you spoke, if you were blessed enough to meet Dan, you had a friend!
An avid Minnesota Twins and Golden Gopher football fan, Dan rarely missed a game, always cheering with enthusiasm. He had a fulfilling and diversified career in the financial services sector for over 40 years. He was known not just for his expertise but for his genuine care for those with whom he worked.
Above all, Dan cherished his faith, his family and his friendships. He loved deeply, laughed often, and always took the time to make others feel valued. His presence and ability to tell a story with passion will be sorely missed, but never forgotten. His legacy of faith, love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Thank you, Lord, for the life of Dan Williams.
A celebration of Dan’s life will be held on Friday, April 4th at Plymouth Covenant Church (4300 Vicksburg Lane) with a visitation starting at 9:30, and a service to follow at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to his family.
