Daniel John Wieczorek
Daniel Wieczorek, 76, loving husband, father, and papa passed away November 23, 2021. Dan was born in Winona, Minnesota to Marcella and Stanley Wieczorek who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Susan, and two daughters, Lynn Wieczorek (Mike Danielson) and Sarah (Ryan) Haugen, who they raised at their home in Long Lake. He is also survived by grandchildren Drew and Anna Danielson and Gavin and Eleanor Haugen, and siblings Steve, Jane and Peggy.
Dan worked lifelong in the grocery business, eventually retiring from the USDA after traveling the country as a meat grader. Dan had a passion for the Green Bay Packers, coaching youth fastpitch softball, and spending time at the cabin on Lake Lida. He loved to fish, winter on South Padre Island, tell stories and socialize with friends and family.
A gathering of friends will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the Shorewood Community and Event Center, 5735 Country Club Road, Shorewood, MN 55331 beginning at 11:00 with a service at 11:30, lunch and visiting to follow. Dress is casual, as Dan would have wanted it. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, memorials will be forwarded to the Parkinson’s Foundation or the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation.
