Daniel L. Gabrelcik

Daniel Lawrence Gabrelcik was born on May 27, 1952, the fifth of ten children. He grew up on a farm west of Delano and graduated from Delano High School in 1971. Dan married Cecilia Bauman at the Church of St. Peter in Delano on June 17, 1972. Dan and Cece raised their five children outside of Delano, where Dan spent time putzing in his shop, woodworking, snowmobiling, riding motorcycles, driving his Kubota, fishing, boating, and maintaining the ‘Woods’.

Dan founded Gabrelcik Drywall Inc. in 1974, shortly after the birth of his oldest child. He went on to hang sheetrock and drywall many homes throughout the western Twin Cities. Dan retired in 2021 after spending 47 years developing his identity of Dangerous Dan the Drywall Man.

After retirement, Dan could be found holding court at Menards. He would also make random visits to family and friends, lending a helping hand on whatever project was being done at the time of his visit. Dan also enjoyed napping in his easy chair, watching John Wayne and westerns, and listening to classic country.

Most of all, Dan loved his family. He loved playing with his grandkids, making sure there was a four-wheeler, snowmobile, or go-kart to get in trouble on. Dan’s big heart is apparent in the legacy left behind in his family. He will be remembered forever and will remain in our hearts always.

Dan is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cecilia; children, Charity (Nathan) Filipi, Andrew Gabrelcik (Michelle DeWitte), Joshua Gabrelcik, Jessi (Scott) Rinne, Tracy Gabrelcik; grandchildren, Matthew (Michaela Malone) and Samantha Filipi, Tanner Chevrette, Jenna Anderson, Colin and Hannah Gabrelcik, Maria and John Manuel, Wyatt Gabrelcik; great-granddaughter, Cienna Chevrette; siblings, Don (Kay), Linda (Ed) Franzen, Carol (TC) Fogarty, Bob (Lenore), LuAnn (Joe) Neaton, Gene (Lisa), Wayne (Donna); sister-in-law, Bonnie Gabrelcik; many nieces and nephews.
