Daniel D. Everson

Daniel D. Everson, age 68 of Plymouth passed away July 9, 2018 from complications of Corticobasal Degeneration, a rare, progressive neurological disorder.  He handled his disease with dignity and acceptance.  He never once said “Why me?”.  Dan’s wish has been granted as his brain has been donated to the Mayo Clinic to further research for a cure.

Dan graduated from St. Cloud State University in 1973 and began his career as a Marketing Rep. for Northwestern Bell Telephone.  He joined International Parts Supply Corp. in 1980 and served as Vice President until his illness necessitated his retirement in 2012.  Dan was an avid golfer, movie savant, a gambler at heart and appreciated a liberal point of view.  His greatest joy however was reserved for his grandsons, Nicholas (8) and Matthew (5).  He loved them dearly and was so proud they inherited his love of golf.

Dan was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Everson.  He is survived by his wife, Carol; sons, Brad Johnson and Michael Everson (Katie); grandsons, Nicholas and Matthew; mother, LaVern Stempson (Tom); brothers, Ken (Roseanne), John (Tanya), Tom (Wendy) and many nieces, nephews, friends including special friends, Josh, Liz and Solomon Bauer.

A Celebration of Dan’s  life will be held Sunday, July 22 at Rush Creek Golf Club, 7801 County Road 101 in Maple Grove, MN.  Visitation 2-3 pm, a Rembrance Service at 3pm with luncheon to follow.  Please come with memories to share.  Memorials in Dan’s name can be made to the American Refugee Committee, 615 1st Avenue NE #500, Minneapolis, MN. 55413, Doctors Without Borders, or donor’s choice
