Clifford Emmanuel Warre
Age 96 of New Hope, formerly of Plymouth, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2019 due to complications from cancer. Cliff was born in Minneapolis to Swedish immigrants Carl and Hilda. He attended South High School and the University of Minnesota. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Cliff fought in the Battle of the Bulge, then became part of Patton’s army and was later captured as a POW. Cliff was a long time employee at Honeywell where he was the contract manager for the Aerospace Division. He moved his family to Clearwater Florida, and later returned to Minneapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Margaret Johnson, Lucille, his wife of 25 years, Virginia his wife of 32 years, and his daughter Katherine Johnson. Cliff is survived by his friend Mary Weiss, and his children Mike Warre (Gert), Mary Gravning, Patty Horton (John), Ginny Gladwin (John Hans), Jim Olson (Suzanne), Bob Olson, John Olson (Susie), his grandchildren Avalon Warre, Mary Harrison, Casey Putschoegl, Dan Gladwin, David Gladwin, TJ Gladwin, JD Hans, Kristin Conrad, Derek Olson, Matt Olson, Sara Greenberg, Tommy Olson and 16 great grandchildren.
Our special thanks to the staff at St Therese New Hope and North Memorial Hospice care. A celebration of Cliff’s life will be held Monday, October 7 visitation beginning at 4pm with sharing of memories at 5pm followed by a dinner reception all at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel, 15800 37 th Ave. N. in Plymouth. Private Interment Gethsemane Cemetery.
