Cliff was born February 4, 1931 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Steve and Clara Szczech and passed away in Annandale, Minnesota at the age of 91 years.
Cliff joined the United States Navy April 1948, at the age of 17, and served on the USS Taconic during the Korean war as a Boiler Fireman until March 1952 with an honorable discharge.
Cliff married Theresa Helen Stachowski January 13, 1951. They were one month short of 58 years of marriage, when Theresa passed away on December 11, 2008.
Cliff and Theresa have three children Audrey Ann Fordahl, Karen Marie Biro, and Mark Clifford Szczech.
Cliff lived at 4727 Camden Ave. N., Minneapolis, MN for 63 years up until he went into the Annandale Care Center, in Annandale, MN, in August of 2022.
Cliff worked his way through Northwestern Television and Electronics Institute starting in 1953 and received a diploma of graduation in December 1955.
He was employed in various electronic technician positions until he went to work for Hennepin County as a truck driver, plowing county roads in the winter and working road maintenance in the summer. He retired in 1993, after 25 years of service to Hennepin County and as a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local No. 49.
Cliff had been a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1996.
Cliff spent his spare time in his love of gardening and sharing his produce, love of baking and sharing those goodies, loving his cats, and being a handyman to many neighbors, friends, and family.
Cliff was preceded in death by his parents Steve and Clara Szczech, wife Theresa, brother Jerome Szczech, grandson Aaron Rogian (son of Karen Biro), and son-in-law Joe Biro.
Cliff is survived by daughter Audrey (Craig) Fordahl, daughter Karen Biro and son Mark (Tammy) Szczech, 8 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Monday, December 5 at Gearty Delmore Robbinsdale Chapel, 3888 W. Broadway, with a funeral service at 7:00 PM. Interment will be Tuesday, December 6 at 11:30 AM at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, meeting at Assembly Area # 2 at 11:15 AM.
