Christopher Scott Bottorff was born on June 18, 1977 in Madison, Wisconsin to Marilyn and Craig Bottorff and passed away peacefully on April 28, 2016 after a six year battle with a brain tumor. He attended Madison West High School, Madison Area Technical College, and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater graduating magna cum laude in 2003 with a BFA degree in graphic design. He was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Societies. Chris was a goalie on the UW-Whitewater men’s hockey team.
Christopher and Cheryl J. Conohan were united in marriage in 2007 in Cross Plains, Wisconsin. They made their home in Columbia Heights, Minnesota until the time of his death. Chris and Cheryl enjoyed traveling, laughing, finding new adventures and spending time with their close friends.
Chris began his air-brush painting career with a local artist and opened his own business, Bottorff Designs in 2008. Chris was a talented artist and painted goalie helmets for local high schools, colleges and professional hockey teams. Chris was a big kid at heart and loved art, movies and anything Star Wars! Halloween was one of his favorite holidays and he and Cheryl loved to dress in costume. Chris had the warmest heart, biggest smile, and the best outlook on life.
Burial will be at Gethsemane Cemetery in New Hope, MN.
Chris is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl; mother, Marilyn Eggert of New Hope, MN; father, Craig Bottorff of Beaver Dam, WI; sister, Dana (Rich) Ellis of New Hope, MN; Uncle Doug (Marilyn) Eggert of Medford, WI; cousins, Sean (Mariana) Eggert of Chandler, AZ, Mark (Lisa) Eggert of Shawano, WI, Cindy Eggert (Dean) Johnson of Menomonee Falls, WI, and Matthew (Angel) Eggert of Orlando, FL; and many good friends.
