Chester L. Whaley

Chester L. Whaley, age 99 of Minneapolis and formerly of Wheaton, MN, passed away December 22, 2019.

Chester grew up and farmed in the Wheaton/Dumont area. In 1966, he moved his family to Minneapolis to work for St Anne's Catholic Church and School. In retirement, he was the neighborhood handyman, snow plower, and lawn mower.

He is preceded in death by parents, Lloyd and Elizabeth Whaley; wife, Rosella Whaley; and son-in-law, Edward Carlin; sisters, Charlotte Cuperus, Grace Thiel, and Irene Hills.

Chester is survived by children, Beverly Carlin, Carol Whaley, Janet (Keith) Thomas, Shirley (Don) Kastner, Rodney (Jeanette) Whaley; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Bernice Schooler; brother-in-law, Lawrence Hills; and many nieces & nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Church of St. Anne – St. Joseph Hien or Our Lady of Peace Hospice.
