Charlotte M. Soderberg

Charlotte Marie (Trahan) Soderberg was born on September 25, 1939 in Faribault, MN to Theodore and Margaret (O’Connor) Trahan.  In 1942 her family moved to Michigan.  They returned to Minneapolis in 1950.  She graduated from St. Anthony of Padua High School. Charlotte married Jim Soderberg on December 27, 1958 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

After their marriage, Charlotte and Jim made their home in North Minneapolis.  Their son Jay was born in 1959 and son Dean in 1960.  In 1964 they moved to Fridley where they lived for 34 years.  In 1970 they bought their first lake home on Lougee Lake in the Brainerd Lakes area.  Char loved watching the sunsets and listening to the loons.  They vacationed there on weekends and summers for 27 years until they moved to nearby Bass Lake.  After retirement they sold their home in Fridley and lived in Maple Grove and finally in Plymouth.  For more than 20 years they enjoyed winters in their home in Bonita Springs, Florida.

Charlotte was the primary care giver for Dean who was born with Cystic Fibrosis.  When Jay and Dean started school, Charlotte went to work as an assistant for a State Farm Insurance Agency.  She then went to work as an accounting specialist for FMC in Fridley.  She retired there after 18 years.

Charlotte enjoyed painting flowers and landscapes.  She and Jim enjoyed many vacation cruises.  She was a meticulous house keeper and took loving care of her husband Jim her whole life.  Char cherished spending time with her family and especially her Grandchildren.  She loved looking at her flowers and watching the birds in her yard, particularly the cardinals.  She enjoyed outings with her forever friends to plays and dinners.

Charlotte is survived by husband James of 58 years; her son, Jay (Michelle) Soderberg; grandchildren, Sheena Soderberg, Molly (Ryan) Schultz and James Soderberg; her brother, Theodore Trahan and sister, Anita Munson.  She was preceded in death by her son, Dean Soderberg; parents, Theodore and Margaret Trahan; sisters, Gretchen Sieluka and Treva Larson.
