Born to Charles C. Pfeffer, Sr. and Doris (Seaberg) Pfeffer in Bagley, MN and raised in Bemidji, MN. Charlie attended St. Philip’s Elementary School and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1954. He was active in student government, theater and athletics, being named an All State football player in 1953. Charlie attended St. John’s University where he made many cherished, lifelong friends. After graduating in 1958 he worked for a major oil company. In 1962 he married Rita Graham. Together they raised six children. Having lived in Montana, Nebraska, Kansas, Texas and Pennsylvania they returned to Minnesota. At this time Charlie left the oil business, going into commercial real estate. In 1991he established Pfeffer Company, a commercial real estate firm and became very active in NAIOP (National Association Industrial Office Parks).
Charlie enjoyed Canadian fishing trips, pheasant hunting, traveling and spending time in southwest Florida. He had a gift for developing friendships and business relationships that would last a lifetime. He was happiest when he was with his family whom he cherished and loved deeply.
Charlie is survived by Rita, his wife of 56 years and his children, Katherine (Bill Simmons), Ann (Dan Jette), Charlie (Lianne), John, Mary (John Udermann) and Patricia ‘P.J.’ (Todd Bertram) and his grandchildren, Allie, Nicole, Lauren, Emma, Jack, Charlotte, Oscar and Oliver. Also survived by his sister, Carol and brother-in-law, Peter Froehle, many relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial 11 am Friday, Dec. 7 with luncheon to follow at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church7180 Hemlock Lane in Maple Grove. Visitation 4-7pm Thursday at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 37 th Ave. N. at Vicksburg Lane and 1 hour prior to Mass at church. Private Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Maple Grove. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to St. John’s University General Fund or Catholic Eldercare.
The Pfeffer family would like to thank the TCU staff at Catholic Eldercare in NE Minneapolis for the extraordinary kindness and gentle care given to Charlie.
